Description

The gold nipple barbell is a classic 14G straight barbell — a smooth bar with a ball screwed onto each end, sized for the nipple. Simple, comfortable and easy to keep clean, in implant-grade titanium that stays kind to a healing piercing.

It is machined from ASTM F136 titanium (grade 23) and finished in PVD gold over that titanium core — nickel-free and cobalt-free, the warm colour of gold with the skin-safety of titanium, never plated brass. See how it compares with solid gold and plated steel. The material piercers recommend for a fresh piercing and for sensitive skin. Prefer a silver tone? See the titanium nipple barbell.

Both balls screw off the bar, so you can swap an end, change the length as the swelling settles, or clean the piece in seconds — no tools, just clean hands. The same 14G straight bar also works for a tongue barbell.

Choosing your length

A nipple is often pierced a little long to allow for swelling, then downsized to 10–14 mm once healed so the bar sits comfortably. This barbell is 14G (1.6 mm), the standard nipple gauge. Match the size your piercer set, and ask them before downsizing. Our gauge and size guide explains it simply.

Frequently asked questions about the nipple barbell

  • Which length do I need? Usually 12–14 mm, downsized to 10–12 mm once fully healed. Your piercer will confirm what fits and when to change.
  • Is titanium safe for a fresh nipple piercing? Yes — implant-grade ASTM F136 titanium is nickel-free and biocompatible, the recommended choice for a new or sensitive piercing, which heals slowly.
  • Can I swap just the balls? Yes — each ball unscrews from the bar, so you can change a ball or the length without replacing the whole barbell.

A simple bar in metal a healing nipple can trust.

A nipple piercing heals slowly, so the metal has to be truly biocompatible. This barbell is implant-grade ASTM F136 titanium (G23) finished in PVD gold: nickel-free, cobalt-free and hypoallergenic — the material piercers trust. The balls screw off so you can downsize as the swelling settles, and the smooth bar is easy to keep clean.

Putting in your flat back

Three moves and it's in. The top screws on at the front — the flat disc stays put behind.

1

Disc behind

Place the flat disc behind the piercing, flat against the skin.

2

Post through

Guide the post through the hole, to the front.

3

Screw the top

Screw the top onto the post from the front (internal thread). Snug, not forced.

Once in, it doesn't spin or snag — you can sleep in it. On a fresh piercing, have your piercer fit it.

Which nipple barbell length should I choose?
Often 12–14 mm, downsized to 10–12 mm once fully healed. Match the length your piercer fitted and ask them before downsizing.
Is titanium safe for a fresh nipple piercing?
Yes. Implant-grade ASTM F136 titanium is nickel-free and biocompatible, the material piercers recommend for a new or sensitive piercing, which heals slowly.
Can I change just the balls?
Yes — each ball unscrews from the bar by hand, so you can swap a ball or change the length without buying a whole new barbell.
