Description

The titanium rook curved barbell is a small 16G banana bar topped with a cubic-zirconia ornament — the sparkle that sits in the rook fold of the ear. The curve follows the anti-helix so it tucks in neatly; a ball screws onto the bottom, in implant-grade titanium that stays kind to healing cartilage.

It is machined from ASTM F136 titanium (grade 23) — nickel-free and cobalt-free, light and corrosion-resistant. The material piercers recommend for a fresh piercing and for sensitive skin, polished to a quiet silver shine. Prefer gold? The same barbell comes with a flower top in PVD gold.

The bottom ball unscrews so you can put the barbell in yourself and keep it clean. The curved shape is made for the rook, and works just as well in an eyebrow or a snug.

Eight designs

Choose your top: a pavé heart, a star, a marquise trio, a flower, an open heart, a crown of marquise stones, or a butterfly (marquise or full pavé) — all set with clear cubic zirconia.

Where to wear your curved barbell

Made for the rook, the curved barbell also suits an eyebrow, a snug or a daith. It is 16G (1.2 mm) with a 10 mm curve — match the gauge your piercer used. For a hinged hoop that also sits in the rook, see the cartilage hoop.

Frequently asked questions about the rook barbell

  • Is it safe on a fresh piercing? Yes — implant-grade ASTM F136 titanium is nickel-free and biocompatible, the recommended choice for a new or sensitive piercing. A rook heals slowly, so the metal matters.
  • Can I wear it anywhere other than the rook? Yes — the same curved barbell suits an eyebrow, a snug or a daith. Pick the gauge and curve that match your piercing.
  • How does it go in? The bottom ball unscrews; pass the curved bar through the piercing, then screw the ball back on by hand. No tools.

A tiny sparkle for the rook — in metal that heals clean.

A rook sits deep in a fold of cartilage and heals slowly, so the metal matters. This curved barbell is implant-grade ASTM F136 titanium (G23): nickel-free, cobalt-free and hypoallergenic — the material piercers trust — with a cubic-zirconia top in eight designs and a ball that screws off for easy wear. The curve is shaped to tuck neatly into the rook.

Putting in your flat back

Three moves and it's in. The top screws on at the front — the flat disc stays put behind.

1

Disc behind

Place the flat disc behind the piercing, flat against the skin.

2

Post through

Guide the post through the hole, to the front.

3

Screw the top

Screw the top onto the post from the front (internal thread). Snug, not forced.

Once in, it doesn't spin or snag — you can sleep in it. On a fresh piercing, have your piercer fit it.

Can I wear a rook barbell anywhere else?
Yes — the same 16G curved barbell also suits an eyebrow, a snug or a daith. Pick the gauge and curve your piercer fitted.
Is titanium safe for a fresh rook?
Yes. Implant-grade ASTM F136 titanium is nickel-free and biocompatible, the material piercers recommend for a new or sensitive piercing, which heals slowly.
How does it go in?
The bottom ball unscrews by hand. Pass the curved bar through the piercing, then screw the ball back on — no tools.
