The gold lip ring brings warm, polished shine to a healed lip piercing: a fine 16G lip hoop finished in yellow gold, with a small round bead that catches the light. Wear it as a single side-lip accent, in a centre labret or as a snake bites pair — and browse every lip piercing style to build your look.
Under the colour is ASTM F136 titanium (G23), the same implant-grade metal as our titanium range — nickel-free, light and strong. The gold is a PVD finish bonded to the titanium, for a rich yellow tone on skin that has fully healed. Prefer a cooler, silver look? See the titanium lip ring.
Its design pairs a hinged segment with a fixed 3 mm bead. The ring swings open, slides through and clicks shut, and the bead stays put — no fiddling with tension, no bead to chase across the bathroom floor.
A fixed bead, not a captive one
A classic captive bead ring holds its bead by tension alone, so every change risks a dropped bead and a bent ring. Here the bead is part of the ring: you keep the softly rounded bead ring silhouette, while the hinge makes changing it a two-second job.
Which diameter to choose
One gauge, 16G (1.2 mm), three inner diameters: 8 mm for a snug hug against the lip, 10 mm for most lips, 12 mm for a looser, more visible hoop. Not sure of your size? Our gauge and size guide explains it. For a nostril or septum, a plain hinged hoop may suit you better: see the nose ring.
Frequently asked questions about the gold lip ring
-
Is it gold all the way through? No: the core is ASTM F136 titanium and the colour comes from a gold PVD finish. You get a gold look on a nickel-free, implant-grade base.
-
Can I wear it on a fresh piercing? It is designed for a healed lip piercing. Your first jewellery is fitted by your piercer; switch to this ring once the piercing has fully healed.
-
Does it suit other piercings? Yes, once healed: nostril, septum, helix or tragus, as long as they take 16G and the diameter fits.
