Description

The titanium lip ring is a fine 16G lip hoop with a small polished bead that sits right at the centre of the lip — the classic bead ring look, made simple. Designed for a healed lip piercing, it suits a side lip, a centre labret or a snake bites pair, and once healed it also works in a nostril, septum, helix or tragus.

It is machined from implant-grade ASTM F136 titanium (G23) — nickel-free, light and corrosion-resistant, in a polished silver tone. It is the understated choice for sensitive skin and for a lip that took its time to heal, with a finish that does not tarnish. Want something warmer? See the gold lip ring.

Here is the clever part: it looks like a captive bead ring, but the 3 mm bead is fixed to the ring. A hinged segment swings open, slides through and clicks shut — no tension to fight, no tiny bead rolling down the sink.

Choosing your diameter

Inner diameter Fit Best for
8 mm Snug, hugs the lip A close, discreet look
10 mm Standard Most lips — the safe pick
12 mm Looser, more visible A relaxed hoop that shows more

The ring comes in one gauge, 16G (1.2 mm), the standard for lip piercings. Measure the inside of the ring you wear now, or ask your piercer, and match it — our gauge and size guide shows how. Prefer a flat stud for a centre labret? See the titanium labret.

Frequently asked questions about the titanium lip ring

  • Can I wear it in a fresh lip piercing? No — it is made for a healed lip piercing. Your first jewellery is fitted by your piercer; switch to a hoop once they give you the go-ahead.
  • Can the bead come off? No. The bead is fixed to the ring, so there is nothing to lose — only the hinged segment opens.
  • Is it the same as a hinged segment ring? Almost: it opens on the same hinge, but adds a small polished bead for a captive-bead look.

The bead ring look, minus the lost bead.

A lip piercing sits in a sensitive, busy spot, so the metal and the closure both matter. This ring is implant-grade ASTM F136 titanium (G23), nickel-free and light, and its fixed bead means nothing comes loose when you open the hinge.

Putting in your clicker hoop

No tiny parts to lose: the hoop opens on a hinge and closes with a click.

1

Open the hinge

Hold the hoop and gently swing the hinged segment open. Never twist or pull the ring apart.

2

Thread it through

Slide the open end through the piercing, following the angle of the hole.

3

Click it shut

Press the segment back until you hear and feel the click. Give it a light tug to check.

Open and close it over a towel or a closed sink. On a fresh piercing, have your piercer fit it.

Is titanium a good choice for a sensitive lip?
ASTM F136 titanium (G23) is implant-grade and nickel-free, which is why it suits sensitive skin. It is also light, so the ring is barely felt.
Which diameter fits a side lip piercing?
10 mm fits most lips. Choose 8 mm for a snug hug against the lip, or 12 mm for a looser, more visible hoop.
Can I wear it for snake bites?
Yes: order two rings in the same diameter, one for each side, once both piercings have healed.
Do I need tools to put it in?
No. Open the hinged segment with your fingers, pass the ring through and press it shut until it clicks.
