Description

This flower cartilage earring is a tiny four-petal bloom for your ear: four round clear crystals set around a small polished metal centre, about 3.7 mm across — just enough sparkle to catch the eye on a helix without overpowering it. It is the flower helix stud you can leave in day and night, and it sits just as prettily in a tragus, conch, flat or lobe.

It is made from ASTM F136 implant-grade titanium (G23) — nickel-free, light and gentle on sensitive skin, the material piercers favour for cartilage, which heals slowly and reacts quickly to cheap alloys. The polished silver tone keeps the flower soft and understated. Prefer a warmer glow? See the gold flower stud.

Underneath, it is a flat back earring in labret style: the flat disc sits flush against the back of your ear, so nothing pokes your neck or catches on your pillow — comfortable enough to sleep on. The flower top screws into the post from the front (internally threaded), so no thread ever rubs through the piercing.

Choosing your post length

The post is 16G (1.2 mm) thick and comes in three lengths: 6, 8 and 10 mm. 6 mm gives a snug fit on a healed helix or tragus; 8 mm is the most common choice; 10 mm leaves room for thicker cartilage or the swelling of a fresh piercing. Your very first jewellery is always fitted by your piercer — keep the gauge they used.

A flower top or a plain one?

The flower is what makes this stud: four crystal petals read as a little bloom rather than a single dot, a soft focal point for the upper ear. If you would rather wear a simple ball or a single crystal on the same flat back post, see our titanium labret. Prefer another shape on the same flat back? See our heart stud or the triple star stud.

Frequently asked questions about the titanium flower stud

  • Can I wear it as a tragus stud? Yes — the flat disc sits flush behind the tragus, and a 6 or 8 mm post usually fits best once it has healed.
  • What are the petals made of? Four round clear cubic zirconia (CZ) crystals, set around a small titanium centre.
  • Can I sleep with it in? Yes — the flat back lies against the skin, so it stays comfortable on a pillow, even in a helix.

A little flower, gentle on your cartilage.

Cartilage heals slowly and reacts fast to the wrong metal, so the material comes first. This stud is ASTM F136 implant-grade titanium (G23): nickel-free and hypoallergenic, the choice piercers trust. Its four-petal crystal flower adds a soft sparkle, and the flat back stays comfortable day and night.

Putting in your flat back

Three moves and it's in. The top screws on at the front — the flat disc stays put behind.

1

Disc behind

Place the flat disc behind the piercing, flat against the skin.

2

Post through

Guide the post through the hole, to the front.

3

Screw the top

Screw the top onto the post from the front (internal thread). Snug, not forced.

Once in, it doesn't spin or snag — you can sleep in it. On a fresh piercing, have your piercer fit it.

Which post length should I choose?
8 mm suits most helix and tragus piercings. Choose 6 mm for a snug fit on a healed piercing, and 10 mm for thicker cartilage or extra room.
Is titanium good for sensitive skin?
Yes. ASTM F136 titanium is nickel-free and biocompatible, which is why piercers recommend it for sensitive skin and cartilage.
Can I wear it in my lobe or conch?
Yes — it works in a helix, tragus, conch, flat or lobe, as long as the piercing takes a 16G (1.2 mm) post.
How big is the flower?
The flower top is about 3.7 mm wide: small and delicate, with four clear crystal petals around a metal centre.
  1. The prettiest flower

I've tried several from other places, and the stones were often dull or badly glued. Here the four crystals are properly set, they really sparkle, and the little polished centre makes it look very finished. It's 3.7 mm, the ideal size, not too tiny and not too showy.
