Description

This star cartilage earring lines up three little stars: star-cut clear crystals, each held in fine prongs, set in a diagonal row about 8 mm long that follows the natural curve of your ear. Discreet up close, bright from across the room — a star helix earring made for the helix piercing, and just as pretty on a tragus, conch, flat or lobe.

It is machined from ASTM F136 titanium (G23), the implant-grade, nickel-free metal piercers rely on for cartilage, which heals slowly and is quick to react to low-quality alloys. The polished silver tone stays cool and minimal, so the three stars carry the whole look. Would you rather have a warmer glow? The gold star cluster stud is the same design with a gold PVD finish.

Underneath, it is a flat back labret: a smooth disc rests against the back of the ear, and the top screws in with internal threading, so the thread stays inside the post and nothing rough passes through the piercing. Prefer a leafy line to stars? Have a look at the titanium marquise climber.

Which post length for your placement?

The post is 16G (1.2 mm) and comes in 6, 8 or 10 mm. As a rule of thumb:

  • 6 mm: a close fit on thin cartilage — helix, flat or a small star tragus earring.
  • 8 mm: the most versatile length, for most helix piercings and lobes.
  • 10 mm: for thicker tissue, such as a deep conch piercing or a fuller lobe.

Frequently asked questions about the titanium star stud

  • Can I wear it in a new star helix piercing? Flat back studs are what piercers use for cartilage, and nickel-free titanium is a safe match. For a brand-new piercing, let your piercer fit the first jewellery and choose the length.
  • What are the stones? Three star-cut clear cubic zirconia (CZ) crystals, each prong-set so light reaches them from every side.
  • Why titanium rather than surgical steel? Steel can contain nickel, a common cause of irritation. ASTM F136 titanium is nickel-free, which matters for slow-healing cartilage.

Starry sparkle, gentle on healing cartilage.

Cartilage heals slowly and reacts quickly to the wrong metal, so the material comes first. This stud is implant-grade ASTM F136 titanium (G23): nickel-free and hypoallergenic, the metal piercers trust. The flat back sits smoothly behind the ear, and the silver tone keeps the three stars crisp and understated.

Putting in your flat back

Three moves and it's in. The top screws on at the front — the flat disc stays put behind.

1

Disc behind

Place the flat disc behind the piercing, flat against the skin.

2

Post through

Guide the post through the hole, to the front.

3

Screw the top

Screw the top onto the post from the front (internal thread). Snug, not forced.

Once in, it doesn't spin or snag — you can sleep in it. On a fresh piercing, have your piercer fit it.

Which post length do I need?
6 mm suits a snug helix, flat or tragus, 8 mm fits most piercings, and 10 mm is for a deep conch or a fuller lobe. Your piercer can confirm the right length.
Is titanium good for sensitive skin?
Yes. ASTM F136 titanium is nickel-free and biocompatible, which is why piercers recommend it for sensitive skin and cartilage.
How do I put on an internally threaded stud?
Wash your hands, slide the post through from the back, then screw the star top in clockwise until it feels snug. No tools needed.
How big is the star cluster?
The row of three stars measures about 8 mm from end to end: visible, but small enough for a tragus or a narrow helix.
