Description

This dangle helix earring lets a little piece of night sky swing from a single piercing: a small curved bar sits on the front of your ear, and from it fall three fine chains of different lengths — one ending in a four-point star, one in a crescent moon, one in a tiny clear stone. In implant-grade titanium with a cool silver tone, it brings movement to a helix piercing without crowding the ear.

It is made from ASTM F136 titanium (G23) — nickel-free, light and gentle on sensitive skin, so even a piece that moves all day stays comfortable on cartilage. The polished silver tone keeps the charms soft and understated, easy to wear with the rest of your jewellery. Prefer a warmer glow? See the gold moon dangle stud.

Underneath the charms is a 16G (1.2 mm) flat back labret, internally threaded, with a flat disc that rests against the back of the ear. The whole design measures about 10 × 14.5 mm, small enough to stay delicate. Like any dangle cartilage earring, it is made for healed piercings.

One piercing, three falling charms

Unlike a chain that links two holes, everything here hangs from one stud: the bar holds the chains, and the chains simply fall and sway as you move. Would you rather connect two piercings? Our titanium double piercing chain does exactly that. The stud comes in three post lengths, 6, 8 and 10 mm: 6 mm for a snug fit, 8 mm for everyday wear, 10 mm for a thicker ear — or simply keep the length your piercer chose.

Where to wear it

The helix is its natural home, where the chains fall along the rim of the ear. It also works in a flat, a conch or a lobe. A moon cartilage earring like this makes a soft focal point between small studs: for layout ideas, read how to build a curated ear.

Frequently asked questions about the moon dangle stud

  • Can I wear it in a fresh piercing? No — moving charms can catch and tug, which a healing piercing does not tolerate. Wear it once your piercing has healed; your first jewellery should be fitted by your piercer.
  • Is it a helix piercing with chain? Yes, with three fine chains — but they all hang from one piercing. Nothing connects to a second hole.
  • Will the chains catch on things? They can snag on hair, scarves or knitwear, so take care when you dress, brush your hair or pull off a jumper.

A little night sky, kind to your cartilage.

Putting in your flat back

Three moves and it's in. The top screws on at the front — the flat disc stays put behind.

1

Disc behind

Place the flat disc behind the piercing, flat against the skin.

2

Post through

Guide the post through the hole, to the front.

3

Screw the top

Screw the top onto the post from the front (internal thread). Snug, not forced.

Once in, it doesn't spin or snag — you can sleep in it. On a fresh piercing, have your piercer fit it.

How is it different from the double piercing chain?
This stud dangles from a single piercing. The double piercing chain links two holes with one chain.
How long are the chains?
The whole design measures about 10 × 14.5 mm. The three chains have different lengths, so the star, the moon and the stone fall at staggered heights.
Which post length should I choose?
6 mm sits snug, 8 mm is an everyday fit and 10 mm leaves room for a thicker ear. If unsure, keep the length your piercer used.
Is titanium a good choice for sensitive skin?
Yes — ASTM F136 titanium (G23) is nickel-free and the material piercers favour for sensitive ears.
What is the clear stone?
A small clear cubic zirconia in a prong setting, hanging at the end of one of the three chains.
  1. Coming from someone who never wears dangles

I never usually wear dangles, but this one is so fine that it stays subtle. It weighs nothing and it hasn't bothered my cartilage at all. I paired it with the star cluster just below, the starry sky effect really works.
