Description

The gold crystal tongue barbell is a straight tongue ring with a warm golden shine and a clear crystal at each end, bezel-set in a round 5 mm ball. Designed for a healed tongue piercing, it is the upgrade that turns a discreet bar into jewellery you actually want to show.

Under the gold tone is implant-grade ASTM F136 titanium (G23) with a gold PVD finish: a nickel-free titanium core, not plated brass. Golden metal and clear cubic zirconia give a soft, warm sparkle that flatters every smile. Prefer a cooler look? See the titanium crystal tongue barbell.

Both stones sit in a smooth bezel setting with no prongs, and the bar is internally threaded, so nothing rough passes through the piercing. For a plainer everyday option, see our titanium tongue barbell.

Thinking about a tongue piercing?

Pain is personal, and for many people the swelling of the first days is what they remember most. Curious how the tongue compares with other spots? Read which piercings hurt the most. Once it has healed and been downsized, a gold tongue barbell like this one is the reward.

Choosing your bar length

The bar is 14G (1.6 mm) thick, in two lengths: 16 mm, the usual fit for a healed tongue, and 14 mm for a closer, snugger look. A new piercing starts on a longer bar fitted by your piercer; switch to this one once you have been downsized.

Frequently asked questions about the gold crystal tongue barbell

  • What is under the gold? Implant-grade, nickel-free ASTM F136 titanium. The gold tone is a thin PVD layer bonded to it, so the core touching your piercing is titanium.
  • Do the stones have prongs? No. Each crystal is bezel-set, framed by a smooth rim of metal, so nothing catches on your teeth or palate.
  • Can I wear it elsewhere? Once healed, a 14G straight barbell of this length can also be worn as a nipple barbell. This page is designed first for the tongue.

Golden sparkle, titanium core.

Putting in your barbell

One end stays on the bar, the other comes off: that's the one you remove and refit.

1

Remove one end

Unscrew the ball or top (or pull it straight off if it's a push-pin end).

2

Bar through

Slide the bar through the piercing, following its angle, without forcing.

3

Refit the end

Screw or press the end back on until it is snug. Check it now and then, as ends can loosen.

Do it over a towel or a closed sink so the end can't get lost. On a fresh piercing, have your piercer fit it.

Will the gold finish fade?
PVD is a thin, hard coating bonded to the titanium, more resistant than classic plating. Avoid biting the bar and abrasive products to keep it bright.
Is it real gold?
No. It is implant-grade titanium G23 with a gold PVD finish — nickel-free, never plated brass.
Are the stones real gemstones?
They are cubic zirconia (CZ), a clear, bright crystal — not a diamond. Each one is bezel-set into a 5 mm ball.
Which length should I choose?
16 mm is the usual length for a healed tongue; 14 mm gives a snugger fit once your piercer agrees.
