Description

The gold butterfly eyebrow ring is the most romantic way to dress a healed brow: a tiny butterfly of marquise-cut clear CZ set in warm yellow gold above the brow, and a plain 3 mm polished ball below. Gold frames the clear stones like a little piece of fine jewellery, turning delicate eyebrow piercing jewelry into the detail people notice first.

Underneath the colour is the same ASTM F136 titanium (G23) as our silver-tone version, finished with gold PVD: nickel-free, light, and never gold-plated brass. You get the glow of gold around the sparkle, on a base designed for piercings. Prefer a cooler, quieter setting, or a bar for sensitive skin? See the titanium butterfly eyebrow ring, or browse our eyebrow piercing collection.

It's made for a healed piercing. The slim 16G (1.2 mm) curved bar keeps the butterfly on top; the ball comes off to slide the bar in, and back on to close. Once healed, the same curved barbell butterfly also suits a vertical labret, a snug or a rook — and if a rook is your plan with a plainer look, we also make a dedicated titanium rook barbell.

Choosing between 6 and 8 mm

6 mm sets the gold butterfly close against a shallow healed piercing, so it looks like it's resting on the brow. 8 mm is the more common healed fit and gives a deeper piercing a little room. The easiest way to choose: measure the curved bar you wear now, between its ends. Our gauge and size guide walks you through it.

Gold butterfly eyebrow ring: your questions

  • Can I wear it right after piercing? Better not: your first jewellery is fitted by your piercer, and a gold-finish bar with stones is best kept for a healed piercing. Heal in plain titanium, then switch.
  • How does gold change the look of the stones? The warm setting makes the clear CZ look brighter and a touch more precious, a bit like a fine gold pendant in miniature.
  • Will the gold colour last? PVD is bonded to the titanium rather than painted on. Clean it with saline and skip abrasive products or metal polishes to keep the glow.
Material and care

  • Material: implant-grade ASTM F136 titanium (G23)
  • Finish: gold PVD, warm yellow-gold tone
  • Nickel-free — not gold-plated brass
  • Style: curved barbell (banana bar)
  • Top end: tiny butterfly of marquise-cut clear CZ
  • Bottom end: plain 3 mm polished ball
  • Gauge: 16G (1.2 mm)
  • Length: 6 or 8 mm
  • For healed piercings: eyebrow, rook, vertical labret or snug

Care: rinse with sterile saline, pat dry gently around the stones and avoid harsh cleaners that could dull the gold finish. See our aftercare guide.

Sparkle, framed in gold.

Gold turns the little CZ butterfly into the brightest detail on your face, while the plain ball keeps the underside discreet. Underneath is the base piercers trust — ASTM F136 titanium (G23), nickel-free — finished in gold PVD, never gold-plated brass. Two lengths give a neat fit on a healed piercing.

Putting in your barbell

One end stays on the bar, the other comes off: that's the one you remove and refit.

1

Remove one end

Unscrew the ball or top (or pull it straight off if it's a push-pin end).

2

Bar through

Slide the bar through the piercing, following its angle, without forcing.

3

Refit the end

Screw or press the end back on until it is snug. Check it now and then, as ends can loosen.

Do it over a towel or a closed sink so the end can't get lost. On a fresh piercing, have your piercer fit it.

Is it real gold?
It's a gold PVD finish on ASTM F136 titanium (G23): the warm colour of gold on a nickel-free base made for piercings, not gold-plated brass.
Can I wear it as a vertical labret?
Yes, once healed: the butterfly sits on top and the ball below. Compare the length with the bar you wear now before choosing.
Which length looks most delicate?
6 mm, on a shallow healed piercing, keeps the butterfly close so it looks like it's resting on the brow. Choose 8 mm if your piercing is deeper.
Does it go with silver-tone jewellery?
Yes. A gold butterfly on the brow with silver-tone titanium elsewhere is a soft, deliberate mixed-metal look.
