Description

Our titanium eyebrow barbell is the classic piece of eyebrow piercing jewelry: a slim curved barbell (banana bar) that follows the line of the brow, with a small polished ball sitting neatly at each end. Clean, discreet and comfortable from morning to night, it's what most people picture when they search for an eyebrow ring — only shaped to sit flat and stay put.

It is made from ASTM F136 implant-grade titanium (G23): nickel-free, light and corrosion-resistant, with a polished silver tone. That's the metal piercers reach for on sensitive skin and on a piercing that is still settling in, because it sits gently against the skin day after day. Want a warmer look once you've healed? See the gold eyebrow barbell.

The bar is 16G (1.2 mm) and internally threaded: the two 3 mm balls screw into the bar, so no thread ever passes through the piercing. Unscrew one ball, slide the bar through, screw it back finger-tight — done. Your very first jewellery should be fitted by your piercer; this one is for the next step, or to replace a starter bar with implant-grade titanium.

Which length to choose

Three lengths, measured along the bar between the balls. 6 mm gives a snug fit on a shallow, fully healed piercing. 8 mm is the most common healed fit. 10 mm leaves room for a fresh piercing that may still swell, or suits a deeper placement. If the balls press into the skin, go one size up. Not sure? Our gauge and size guide shows how to measure. Want a different look? Frequently asked questions about the titanium eyebrow barbell

  • Can I wear it on a fresh eyebrow piercing? Implant-grade titanium is the right material for it, and the 10 mm length leaves room for swelling. Let your piercer fit the first bar and tell you when it's time to downsize.
  • Does an eyebrow piercing hurt? Most people describe it as quick and moderate, but everyone feels it differently. Our guide to which piercings hurt the most compares the main placements.
  • Is there a straight version for the lip? Yes — for a lip or a vertical placement, our titanium labret has a flat back that sits flush inside the mouth.

The quiet classic your brow can live with.

An eyebrow piercing sits right on the surface, so the metal touches your skin all day. This curved barbell is implant-grade ASTM F136 titanium (G23): nickel-free, light and kind to sensitive skin. Internal threading keeps every thread out of the piercing, and three lengths let you go from a roomy fresh fit to a snug healed one.

Putting in your barbell

One end stays on the bar, the other comes off: that's the one you remove and refit.

1

Remove one end

Unscrew the ball or top (or pull it straight off if it's a push-pin end).

2

Bar through

Slide the bar through the piercing, following its angle, without forcing.

3

Refit the end

Screw or press the end back on until it is snug. Check it now and then, as ends can loosen.

Do it over a towel or a closed sink so the end can't get lost. On a fresh piercing, have your piercer fit it.

What size is a standard eyebrow barbell?
Most eyebrow piercings use a 16G (1.2 mm) curved bar. For length, 8 mm is the usual healed fit, 10 mm suits a fresh piercing or a deeper placement, and 6 mm sits snug on a shallow one.
What does internally threaded mean?
The thread is cut inside the bar and the balls screw into it. The bar itself is smooth, so nothing rough passes through the piercing when you put it in or take it out.
Can I wear it in a rook?
Yes, once the piercing has healed: the same curved shape suits a rook or other curved placements. Match the length to your anatomy.
How do I know it's time to downsize?
Once the swelling has gone down and the bar moves noticeably back and forth, a shorter length usually sits better. Your piercer can confirm the right moment and size.
Is the titanium safe if I react to cheap earrings?
ASTM F136 titanium is nickel-free, and nickel is the most common reason cheap jewellery irritates. It's the material piercers recommend for sensitive skin.
